The IATSE Canadian Retirement Plan was established effective January 1, 2005 and is sponsored by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (the "IATSE").

Effective September 1, 2008 the Directors Guild of Canada joined with the IATSE and launched the Canadian Entertainment Industry Retirement Plan  ( the Plan ), with a goal to become the retirement savings plan for the entire entertainment industry.

The purpose of the Plan is to encourage and provide a mechanism for employees and members who work in the entertainment industry to save funds for retirement and for other significant financial goals such as education and home purchase and to receive wages and other employee compensation in a tax-efficient manner.  The Plan is not intended to be a registered pension plan within meaning of the Income Tax Act or any provincial pension standards legislation.
