We know that the summer is a busy time for many of you. And the cost of living is high for everyone right now, too. But, seeing as it’s such a short season, we want to encourage you to enjoy it as much as you can with a few cheap and cheerful suggestions:

  • I.Y. Freezer Pops: Pour your favourite juice into an ice cube tray, cover it with plastic wrap and stick a toothpick in each cup. Freeze for six or more hours and then enjoy!
  • Midnight swim at you local public pool: After a long, hot day on the set, there’s nothing better than jumping into a cool pool. Especially during a heat wave and if the pool is open late. The next best things are: a kiddy pool, a lake or a sprinkler.
  • Support your local farmer’s market: There’s nothing better than visiting a farmer’s market, especially when the summer fruit is in season, like strawberries and plums. Consider picking up a few things and having a little picnic under a shady tree.
  • Go camping in your backyard: Even if your tent is nothing more than a sheet thrown over a tree limb, kids of all ages love telling ghost stories and making s’mores over the barbeque. It’ll cost next to nothing and the memories will be priceless.

Have a great summer!
